I only had like eight students but since it was my first time to handle a class that had a different culture and upbringing it was very difficult for me. I wanted to be their best friend but I think the way I delivered the message was something vague for them. There was this one girl who had a strong personality and she tried to convened with the rest of the class to deliberately defy my authority in the classroom. She made the last couple of weeks a hell for me.
One time I gave them an instruction to do a roleplay. I even handed them a script. But they pretended they couldn’t understand my instruction. I had the Thai teacher explain but to no avail. So I had to cancel that activity and gave them something undeniably very easy like reading out loud.
It was the last day of the school and it was the worst time I have ever had with them. Before I sent them out for lunch I told them that I was giving them a treat. But when it was time to come back to class to conclude they were nowhere to be found. I alerted the principal but I think it gave a negative impression on me. A couple of hours later they came back and I didn’t know where they had been because the Thai teacher who was supposed to be our interpreter couldn’t say anything.
Upset and disappointed, I knew right there and then that I was going to get busted. The only thing that went well was the party where we had to share food with each other.

Sadly though, things didn’t go well with the Thai principal and the American director. Time came that we had to say goodbye to our kind and soft-spoken principal and we did it in Sizzler’s restaurant inside Tesco Lotus Saraburi. I had a green noodles with some soup and a banana split afterwards.
Anyway, I was really disappointed with this event because there were people who convened on kicking out the Thai principal who started the kindergarten and promoted the school to the parents. I thought it was very unfair. Well, I didn’t get to hear the other side, however. But based on what I gathered, Mrs. S* didn’t want the elementary school to be under the college administration supervision and they were not happy about it.

Thai women are noticeably slim and me and my friends were very jealous of them. We couldn’t resist comparing our sizes with the Thai women’s. We would jokingly say that our side view is the Thai women’s front view. How we envied their flat tummy. And when we buy clothes we have to get either M or L where in the Philippines I always get S.
Having big thighs I couldn’t find a pair of jeans to fit me. They were all too small. I couldn’t help wondering how they got such a slim figure. They don’t appear as working out to achieve their look. They are just naturally slim. I took notice of their diet and I observed that they eat raw vegetables and I also read somewhere that chillies help make one slim. Hmm..I thought for awhile.
